On September 21st and 22ndof 2017 anIntra-Departmental Symposium was convened at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bethlahem Institute of Engineering. The scope of the symposium was to get the students interested in engineering thereby to make them active engineers rather than just passive learners. Such an event could have a positive effect on the future of BIOE, the greater community, and perhaps even the nation. The event was hosted by the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering who invited delegates from top engineering colleges and eminent persons from Kanyakumari District
For this symposium we limited the number of events to eight,Paper Presentation, Water rocketry, Lathe master, Supreme Assembler, Photography, Quiz, Free hand drawing and CAD modeling. The events were selected in such a way that the events test theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the students and in a way to also develop the social skills of the students.
